5-megapixel sensor with on-chip image processing
The onsemi MT9P006I12STCU-DR is a CMOS image sensor with integrated image processor, delivering a 2592H x 1944 V active pixel array — a 5-megapixel resolution that captures detail across the full frame at 60 frames per second. Operating from a 1.7 V supply rail and rated across -30°C to 70°C, this sensor suits outdoor surveillance, machine vision, and industrial inspection cameras that see temperature swings.
Pixel architecture and frame-rate trade-offs
Each pixel sits on a 2.2 µm x 2.2 µm frame size — a standard photosite pitch that balances sensitivity against resolution for a 1/2.5-inch optical format. At 60 fps full-resolution readout, the rolling-shutter timing keeps motion artifacts below one line period for most conveyor-belt speeds. The on-chip processor handles Bayer interpolation, lens correction, and auto-exposure metering, offloading the host SoC from pixel-level math. This reduces the MIPI CSI-2 bus bandwidth needed for the raw 10-bit output.
