The HCPL4503SDM is a single-channel optocoupler from onsemi rated for 5000 Vrms isolation, making it a fit for galvanic isolation in motor drives, battery chargers, and PLC digital inputs where noise coupling between the high-voltage and low-voltage domains must be blocked. With a minimum current transfer ratio of 19% at 16 mA forward current, the output transistor can drive a standard logic input or a pull-up resistor without an additional buffer stage. Typical turn-on time of 250 ns and turn-off time of 260 ns keep propagation delay under 1 µs, suitable for high-speed switching applications like IGBT gate-drive isolation or encoder signal isolation.
