10 Mbps dual-channel digital isolator
The onsemi HCPL2631V is a dual-channel optocoupler with a 10 Mbps data rate and open collector output, housed in an 8-DIP through-hole package. It provides 2500 Vrms galvanic isolation between input and output sides, with a common-mode transient immunity of 5 kV/µs minimum — enough to reject fast transients on the field bus in motor-drive or inverter applications. The input side accepts a DC forward current up to 30 mA with a typical forward voltage of 1.4 V. Propagation delay is 75 ns max for both low-to-high and high-to-low transitions, with rise and fall times of 50 ns and 12 ns typical.
Industrial temperature and isolation rating
The 2500 Vrms isolation is a basic-reinforced grade for equipment-level isolation per IEC 60950-1; it is not rated for medical or mains-referenced applications requiring higher isolation. The DIP-8 package (0.300-inch body width) is a standard through-hole footprint that mates with a 2.54 mm pitch socket or solders directly into a PCB. The tube packaging is the factory shipping format — 50 units per tube typical for this package.
onsemi has marked the HCPL2631V as obsolete. No official successor or pin-compatible replacement is listed in the manufacturer's lifecycle records.
