The onsemi HCPL0601R2 is a single-channel digital optoisolator with an open collector output, rated for 10 Mbps data rate and 3750 Vrms isolation voltage.
Speed and timing for digital isolation
With a 10 Mbps data rate, the HCPL0601R2 handles fast digital signals like fieldbus interfaces, encoder outputs, or isolated SPI lines — the 75 ns max propagation delay (symmetrical tpLH/tpHL) keeps skew under control for clocked links. Rise and fall times are 50 ns and 12 ns typical, respectively, which means the output edges are clean enough for 10 Mbps NRZ signaling without external Schmitt triggers in most cases. Common mode transient immunity is rated at 10 kV/µs minimum — this is the key spec for motor-drive or inverter applications where fast switching edges on the high-voltage side couple through parasitic capacitance; the opto rejects those transients so the logic side doesn't glitch.
Temperature grade and sourcing
onsemi lists the product status as Active and the device is ROHS3 Compliant — no NRND or EOL flags, so it remains a valid BOM line for new designs and volume production.
