10 Mbps digital isolation for noisy industrial links
The HCPL0600R2 is a single-channel optoisolator from onsemi with a 10 Mbps data rate and open-collector output, designed to isolate fast digital signals in industrial fieldbus, PLC I/O, and motor-drive interfaces. Its 3750 Vrms isolation rating provides galvanic separation between logic and power domains, while the 5 kV/µs minimum common-mode transient immunity rejects the fast voltage spikes common in inverter and switching power-supply environments.
Switching speed and drive current budget
With a typical rise/fall time of 50 ns and 12 ns and a maximum propagation delay of 75 ns both directions, the HCPL0600R2 handles 10 Mbps NRZ data with enough margin for CAN, RS-485, and isolated SPI links. The open-collector output sinks up to 50 mA per channel, enough to drive a 50 Ω terminated line or a small relay coil directly, but the forward LED current must be limited to 50 mA max with a series resistor calculated from the 1.75 V typical forward voltage.
Active production – no end-of-life risk
ROHS3 compliant for EU and global markets.
Sourcing and cross-reference fit
For a dual-channel alternative, the HCPL0637 offers two open-collector outputs with Schottky clamping and the same 10 Mbps data rate, but in a tube package and with a lower 15 mA per-channel output current. The 6N137SM provides a single-channel 10 Mbps optoisolator with 5000 Vrms isolation and 10 kV/µs typical CMTI, useful where higher isolation or transient immunity is needed, though it comes in a tube package.
