Dual-channel high-speed optocoupler for isolated signal paths
The HCPL0534 from onsemi packs two independent transistor-output optocouplers into a single 8-SOIC package, each channel rated for 2500Vrms isolation. Typical turn-on time is 450 ns and turn-off is 300 ns, fast enough for 1 MHz-ish isolated data links or gate-drive feedback paths without a dedicated high-speed digital isolator. The 15% minimum current transfer ratio at 16 mA forward current means the output transistor needs a pull-up resistor sized for that worst-case gain — plan for it in the logic-level translation stage.
Industrial temperature range and surface-mount package
Housed in an 8-SOIC wide-body (0.154-inch, 3.90 mm width) surface-mount package — the same footprint as many standard SOIC-8 optocouplers, so the PCB layout is straightforward to swap if needed. The 20V maximum output voltage and 8 mA per-channel output current suit 5V and 3.3V logic families directly, with a pull-up resistor to the rail.
