Product details

The onsemi H11AG1VM is a single-channel optocoupler in a 6-DIP through-hole package, designed for galvanic isolation between a DC input LED and a phototransistor output with a base terminal. Rated for 4170 Vrms isolation, it provides reinforced insulation suitable for separating low-voltage control circuits from mains-referenced or high-voltage side loads.

Output characteristics and drive capability

The transistor output is rated for 30 V maximum collector-emitter voltage and 50 mA continuous output current, sufficient for driving small relays, LEDs, or logic-level inputs in isolated signal paths. With a minimum current transfer ratio of 100% at 1 mA forward current, the H11AG1VM guarantees signal transfer even with low LED drive current, reducing input-side power consumption. The base terminal allows external bias adjustment or feedback, giving the designer control over switching threshold and speed beyond the fixed phototransistor configuration.

Switching speed and drive requirements

Typical turn-on and turn-off times are 5 µs each, placing this optocoupler in the moderate-speed category — adequate for 50/60 Hz line synchronization, relay coil drive, or status feedback, but not for high-frequency PWM or data communication above 100 kHz. Vce saturation is 400 mV maximum at rated output current, ensuring the output voltage drop stays low enough to maintain logic-level thresholds in the receiving circuit.

Supplied in Bulk packaging, this part is suited for prototype runs, low-volume production, or manual assembly lines where tape-and-reel feed is not required.
