7500 Vpk isolation — what it means for the BOM
Rated for 7500 Vpk isolation, this optoisolator provides reinforced insulation between the DC input and the phototransistor output. In a motor-drive or power-supply feedback loop, that margin covers transient overvoltages on the high-voltage side without compromising the low-voltage control circuitry. The 20% minimum current transfer ratio at 10 mA forward current means the output transistor saturates with a 2 mA collector current when the LED is driven at 10 mA — sufficient to drive a logic gate input or a low-power relay coil directly.
Switching speed and temperature range
Typical turn-on and turn-off times are 2 µs each, placing the H11A2TM in the standard-speed phototransistor class — adequate for 50/60 Hz line-frequency isolation and DC-level sensing, but not for high-speed serial data or PWM gate-drive feedback above a few kilohertz.
