Isolation and switching profile
The 20% minimum current transfer ratio at 10mA forward current sets the input-to-output gain floor; a 10mA LED drive guarantees at least 2mA collector current in the output transistor, which is enough to pull a logic input low or drive a base resistor on a downstream transistor. Typical turn-on and turn-off times of 2µs each suit medium-speed switching — think relay coil driving, PLC input isolation, or DC bus voltage sensing where a few microseconds of delay are acceptable. The 400mV max Vce saturation keeps the output voltage drop low when the transistor is fully on, so it can sink a logic load without eating into the noise margin. The single-channel device operates over -40°C to 100°C, making it suitable for industrial enclosures and outdoor equipment where ambient temperature swings are common.
Housed in a 6-SMD gull-wing package — the same footprint as the industry-standard DIP-6 but in a surface-mount form factor. The gull-wing leads are visible for inspection and rework-friendly under a hot-air station; the 1.27mm pitch matches common PCB layouts for optocouplers. Supplied in Tape & Reel, so it feeds into a pick-and-place line without a reel change.
