Isolation and signal transfer — what the ratings mean
The H11A2FR2M: Rated for 7500Vpk isolation, this optoisolator provides reinforced galvanic separation between the DC input and the transistor output — suitable for breaking ground loops and protecting low-voltage control logic from high-side transients in industrial or medical equipment. The current transfer ratio (CTR) is a minimum of 20% at 10 mA forward current — at that drive, the output transistor pulls at least 2 mA, enough to saturate a downstream logic input or relay coil. Switching is specified at 2 µs turn-on and 2 µs turn-off typical — this 4 µs total propagation sets a practical data rate ceiling around 250 kbps for clean pulse transmission, adequate for status feedback, PLC digital inputs, or isolated serial links at moderate speed.
Package and board-fit — surface-mount Gull Wing
Supplied in a 6-SMD Gull Wing package (6-SMD supplier device package), the H11A2FR2M is a surface-mount part on Tape & Reel — the Gull Wing leads provide visual solder-joint inspection and moderate standoff for cleaning under the body. The 6-pin footprint is common across the H11A series, so a single PCB layout serves multiple CTR or isolation grades.
Temperature range and operating limits
The maximum forward current is 60 mA DC, and the output transistor blocks up to 30 V. These limits cover most factory-floor and outdoor enclosure environments without derating.
