What the 5300 Vrms isolation means for your circuit
The H11A1SD: The output is a phototransistor with the base brought out to a pin, giving you the option to bias the base for faster switching or leave it floating for standard transistor output behaviour.
Switching speed and current transfer ratio — the real-world limits
The minimum current transfer ratio is 50% at 10 mA forward current — meaning with 10 mA into the LED, the phototransistor can sink at least 5 mA at the output. Turn-on and turn-off times are both 2 µs typical — this is a general-purpose opto, not a high-speed digital isolator. It handles 115/230 V AC zero-cross detection and motor-run feedback at line frequency, but it will not keep up with a 100 kHz PWM signal.
Package and temperature grade for the board
Housed in a 6-SMD gull wing package (supplier device package 6-SMD), the part is surface-mount ready for reflow assembly. The Tape & Reel packaging suits automated pick-and-place lines.
