Isolation and switching — what the ratings mean
The H11A1FR2VM: 7500Vpk isolation voltage — that is the transient-withstand rating between input LED and output phototransistor. It qualifies the part for line-voltage galvanic isolation in industrial controls, motor drives, and power supplies where the primary-secondary barrier must hold off surge events. Minimum current transfer ratio of 50% at 10 mA forward current means the output transistor can sink at least 5 mA collector current with 10 mA through the LED. That is enough to drive a logic gate input or a small relay coil directly, but marginal for a 24 V PLC input without a pull-up resistor. Typical turn-on and turn-off times are 2 µs each — the part switches at roughly 250 kHz in a 50% duty-cycle square wave. For a 10 kHz PWM signal the propagation delay is negligible, but for a 1 MHz data isolator the 2 µs edges eat into the bit period.
