Isolation and gain for industrial signal transfer
The FODM8801CR2 from onsemi's OptoHit™ series provides 3750Vrms galvanic isolation between a DC input and a transistor output in a single-channel, 4-SOIC surface-mount package. Its current transfer ratio is guaranteed between 200% and 400% at 1mA forward current, which means the output transistor can sink enough current to drive a logic gate input or a low-power relay coil without an additional buffer stage.
Switching speed and output drive capability
Typical rise and fall times are 5µs and 5.5µs respectively, with turn-on and turn-off times both at 6µs typ. This suits the part for low-frequency signal isolation up to about 10 kHz — think PLC digital inputs, status feedback, or isolated 24V logic interfaces. The output can handle up to 75V and 30mA continuous, with a Vce saturation of 400mV max at rated current, keeping conduction losses low.
Temperature grade and package fit
The 4-SOIC package with 4.40mm body width (0.173") is a common footprint shared with many mini-flat optoisolators, making it a drop-in candidate for existing layouts. onsemi lists the product status as Active, and it is ROHS3 compliant.
Sourcing and volume availability
Available in Tape & Reel (TR) and Cut Tape (CT) packaging options for pick-and-place assembly or prototype runs.
