Product details

25 Mbps digital isolator with push-pull output

The FOD8001R2 is a single-channel logic-gate optoisolator from onsemi rated for 25Mbps data rate with a push-pull, totem-pole output stage. That data rate covers isolating SPI, CAN, or RS-485 links without stretching the pulse width — the 40ns max propagation delay keeps the bus timing margin intact. It provides 3750Vrms isolation and a minimum common-mode transient immunity of 20kV/µs, which means it holds its state through the fast voltage swings on a motor-drive or inverter DC bus.

Supply range and temperature grade

The FOD8001R2 operates from either a 3V–3.6V or 4.5V–5.5V supply rail, so it interfaces directly with 3.3V MCUs and 5V logic without a level shifter. Rise and fall times are 6.5ns typical, which keeps the output edge clean enough for the 25Mbps rate without excessive ringing on a short PCB trace.

Available in Tape & Reel (TR) or Cut Tape (CT) in the 8-SOIC (0.154", 3.90mm width) package. Sourced per RFQ against your BOM quantity.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the FOD8001R2 with a 3.3V microcontroller?

Yes. The supply range includes 3V to 3.6V, so the FOD8001R2 can be powered from a 3.3V rail and its logic input is compatible with 3.3V CMOS levels.

Is the FOD8001R2 a drop-in replacement for the 6N137?

The FOD8001R2 is not a direct pin-for-pin replacement for the 6N137. Verify the output loading and logic family before substituting.

What is the common-mode transient immunity of the FOD8001R2?

The minimum common-mode transient immunity is 20 kV/µs. This rating ensures the output does not glitch when the input side experiences fast common-mode voltage swings, typical in motor-drive or inverter applications.
