Isolation barrier and switching performance
The FOD410SDV provides 5000Vrms isolation between control and load sides, rated for reinforced isolation in mains-referenced circuits up to 600 V off-state. The 10kV/µs minimum static dV/dt immunity keeps the triac from false-triggering on fast line transients or inductive kickback — a common failure in solid-state relay designs driving motors or contactors. Built-in zero-crossing circuit gates the triac on near the AC voltage zero, which limits inrush current into capacitive or cold-filament loads and reduces conducted EMI. Turn-on time is 60 µs, fast enough for line-frequency switching but not for PWM.
Drive requirements and thermal range
Forward voltage is 1.25 V typical, and the LED can handle up to 30 mA continuous. Hold current of the output triac is 500 µA — the load must draw at least this much to keep the triac latched once triggered. Operating temperature spans -55°C to 100°C, covering industrial and outdoor enclosures. The 6-SMD gull-wing package suits standard reflow soldering; the supplier device package is 6-SMD.
Certification and lifecycle
The FOD410SDV carries CSA, UL, and VDE approvals — the three most common safety agency marks for North American and European mains-isolated equipment. Lifecycle status is Active, meaning onsemi continues to manufacture it with no announced end-of-life. ROHS3 compliant.
