The onsemi 6N138S is a single-channel optoisolator in an 8-SMD Gull Wing package, delivering 2500Vrms galvanic isolation between a DC input LED and a Darlington transistor with base pin access. Minimum current transfer ratio of 300% at 1.6 mA forward current means the output can drive a logic input or relay coil from a low-power microcontroller GPIO without an external buffer. Typical turn-on time of 1.5 µs and turn-off time of 7 µs suit it for isolating digital signals up to low-speed communications, such as 10 kbps serial links or PLC discrete inputs.
