The Omron EE-SX951-W 1M is an amplified through-beam photoelectric sensor from the EE-SX95 series. It uses a 0.197 mm slot to detect an object breaking the beam, and the NPN output can be wired for either Dark-ON or Light-ON operation via a selectable jumper or wiring configuration. The 24 VDC supply is standard for industrial control cabinets, so it drops straight onto a 24 V PLC or relay rail without a separate converter. The 1M cable is factory-attached — no field wiring or connector crimping needed, which saves time on a panel build or a field swap.
Output wiring and slot tolerance
The NPN Dark-ON/Light-ON selectable output inverts logic at the sensor. The 0.197 mm slot is tighter than the EE-SPX613's 0.236 mm slot, offering better positional repeatability for thin flags.
Temperature and environment
Rated for -25°C to 55°C operating ambient. That covers most indoor industrial floors and cabinet interiors, but not freezing storage or a hot enclosure above 55°C. If the sensor sits near a motor drive or a steam line, check the internal cabinet temperature — derating is not specified beyond 55°C. The chassis mount body is metal, so it sinks some heat to the panel, but do not rely on that for extended margin.
