Reflective convergent sensing at 2-5 mm
The Omron EE-SPY411 is a reflective convergent photoelectric sensor that detects a white paper target at 2 mm to 5 mm using an infrared LED. The convergent optics focus the beam at a fixed standoff, so the sensor ignores objects outside the focal zone — useful for detecting a label on a moving carton or a part present in a fixture without seeing the background. Output is NPN open collector, Light-ON logic: the transistor pulls low when the reflected beam is received. Switching current is 15 mA at 5 V supply, which drives a PLC input or a relay coil directly through a current-limiting resistor.
Reduced external light interference
The EE-SPY411 includes circuitry for reduced external light interference, meaning the sensor rejects ambient light from overhead fluorescents or nearby welding arcs that would otherwise cause false triggers. This makes it reliable on a conveyor line where the lighting changes between day and night shifts. Chassis-mount package with a bulk delivery form — the sensor body snaps into a bracket or panel cutout. No DIN rail; the mounting is fixed with screws or adhesive, typical for a fixed-position sensing station inside a machine guard.
