15 m through-beam — what the range buys you
The Omron E3Z-T61 is a through-beam photoelectric sensor from the E3Z series, delivering a 15 m sensing distance with an infrared 870 nm light source. That range suits long conveyor spans, warehouse aisle detection, or part-present sensing across a wide gap where retroreflective or diffuse sensors would lose alignment. The NPN output is selectable between Dark-ON and Light-ON via a single-turn adjustment, so you can set the logic to match the PLC input card without an external inverter.
IP67 and temperature — where it lives
Rated IP67, the E3Z-T61 handles washdown environments, dust, and incidental immersion. The -25°C to 55°C operating range covers unheated warehouses and refrigerated zones.
Response time and supply
At 1 ms response time, the sensor can track objects moving at moderate line speeds. The 12 V supply is common in industrial control cabinets.
