Slot sensor with selectable PNP output
The Omron EE-SX675P is a through-beam slot sensor from the EE-SX67 series, designed for presence/absence detection in automated machinery, packaging lines, and assembly stations. Its key differentiator is the PNP Dark-ON/Light-ON selectable output — you choose the logic state that triggers the load, which simplifies integration with PLC inputs that expect a sourcing signal. The 0.197 mm slot gap limits detectable objects to small flags, edges, or tabs; it is not a general-purpose proximity sensor. Chassis-mount package suits panel or machine-frame installation where the sensor body stays fixed and the moving target passes through the slot.
Output selection and wiring
The PNP output is selectable between Dark-ON (load active when beam is interrupted) and Light-ON (load active when beam is clear). This is a wiring-time decision — no software configuration. For a typical PLC sinking input, wire the PNP output to the input card's sourcing terminal; the selectable logic lets you invert the sense without an external relay or logic gate. The switching current is rated at 0.05 A, sized for direct drive of a PLC input or small relay coil — not for a contactor or solenoid. Operating temperature range is -25°C to 55°C, which covers most indoor industrial environments but not freezer or outdoor applications.
