5 mm slot, PNP output, 1 ms — what this sensor does
The EE-SX671R: Through-beam slot sensor with a 5 mm gap. PNP open-collector output sources current when the beam is uninterrupted.
PNP vs NPN — why output type matters for your BOM
The EE-SX671R puts out a PNP open-collector signal. If your control system uses sinking (NPN) inputs — common in older Japanese PLC families — the EE-SPX305-W2A is a functional alternative with NPN output and the same 5 mm slot, same 5 V supply. The EE-SX671R's PNP output is the deciding factor for sourcing compatibility: match it to the input card's wiring convention, or add a level-shifter stage.
