32 MHz 56800E core with 16 KB Flash in a 32-LQFP
The MC56F8013VFAE is a 16-bit digital signal controller from NXP's 56F8xxx series, built around the 56800E core that combines DSP processing power with MCU control logic on a single die. Clocked at 32 MHz, it executes single-cycle multiply-accumulate (MAC) operations, making it suited for real-time closed-loop control algorithms in motor drives and power conversion stages. On-chip memory includes 16 KB of Flash (8K x 16) for program storage and 2K x 16 of RAM for data buffers and stack.
Peripheral set for sensor feedback and actuator drive
The part integrates a 6-channel 12-bit ADC for simultaneous sampling of current and voltage feedback from motor phases or power stages. On-chip PWM timers with programmable dead-time insertion drive the gate signals directly, reducing external glue logic. The POR and WDT peripherals handle power-on sequencing and runaway-code recovery without a supervisor IC. Serial communication is covered by I²C, SCI (UART), and SPI blocks — enough to interface with an external encoder, a host controller on a fieldbus gateway, or a configuration EEPROM. 26 general-purpose I/O lines are available, though some share functions with the ADC and PWM outputs; the pin mux must be planned before the schematic is locked.
