13.9 mT operate, 5 mT release – magnetic thresholds for air-gap budget
The TLE4961-1K is a unipolar Hall switch that responds to a south-pole field above 13.9 mT (typical at 25°C) and releases at 5 mT, giving 8.9 mT of hysteresis. That hysteresis prevents output chatter when the magnetic target sits near the threshold—useful in position sensing where the magnet passes at a controlled standoff. With a minimum supply of 2.7 V, this switch runs directly off a 3.3 V rail without a regulator. The open-collector output sinks up to 20 mA, sufficient to drive a logic input or a low-power relay coil through a pull-up resistor.
-40°C to 150°C – under-hood and industrial high-temp environments
The full temperature span covers engine-bay electronics, exhaust-aft treatment sensors, and industrial ovens where the ambient exceeds 125°C. The temperature-compensated magnetic thresholds keep the operate/release points stable across that range, so the air gap in the mechanical design does not need to be re-verified at the hot end. Surface-mount packaging and bulk tube delivery suit automated pick-and-place.
