Small-form-factor Wi-Fi 4 + Bluetooth 5.0 module with 4 MB flash
The ESP32-C3-MINI-1-N4 is a compact 53-SMD module from the ESP32-C3 series, integrating a RISC-V single-core MCU with 4 MB flash, 384 kB ROM, and 400 kB SRAM. It supports 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi at 150 Mbps and Bluetooth v5.0, covering the 2.412 GHz to 2.484 GHz ISM band. Transmit power reaches 20.5 dBm, which provides a stronger RF link than the 18 dBm typical for many IoT modules — useful for penetrating walls or extending range in smart-building sensors. Receive sensitivity is -104 dBm, giving a solid noise floor margin for weak-signal environments. The module uses a PCB trace antenna, so no external antenna component is needed on the board — saves BOM cost and layout space, but the antenna pattern is fixed and cannot be tuned for a custom enclosure.
The supply range is 3.0 V to 3.6 V, a single 3.3 V rail with ±0.3 V tolerance — a common LDO output, but the regulator must handle 290 mA to 350 mA during transmit bursts. Receive current is 82 mA to 84 mA, so the average draw is well under 100 mA in a typical duty-cycled sensor. The 53-SMD module footprint is surface-mount, reflow-compatible with standard lead-free profiles.
