8 MHz HCMOS XO in the MultiVolt family
The ECS-2520SMV-080-FP-TR is an 8 MHz standard crystal oscillator (XO) delivering a HCMOS output stage — a logic-level square wave, not a sine wave, which is the output type most MCU and FPGA clock pins actually expect. The headline stability spec is ±10 ppm at 25 °C, which covers the initial tolerance, temperature drift, and aging combined over the rated life of the part, so the 8 MHz fundamental is tight enough for UART timing, SPI clock trees, and RTC reference crystals without requiring software trimming.
Wide supply range drops a rail from the BOM
The MultiVolt designation means the oscillator operates from 1.62 V to 3.63 V with a single supply rail — no charge pump, no dual-rail housekeeping. A 3.3 V system uses the full 1.62–3.63 V window directly; a 1.8 V rail also slots in without a separate voltage domain. The Enable/Disable function draws only 10 µA maximum in shutdown, so a sleeping uC can kill the reference and wake it precisely when needed — a meaningful battery-life lever in low-power sensor nodes and metering designs.
