Military temperature grade — the deciding spec
The ECS-2033-200-AU: The operating range of -55°C to 125°C is the spec that separates this part from the commodity oscillator shelf. Standard commercial XOs typically top out at 85°C; this grade covers the full automotive and industrial temperature band in a standard (non-MEMS) crystal oscillator form factor. If the end environment runs hot — engine bay adjacent, enclosed chassis, outdoor cabinet in direct sun — this is the rating that confirms fit without derating or substitution. Frequency stability is ±100 ppm at 20 MHz, which translates to ±2 kHz maximum deviation across the operating temperature window. For UART, SPI clock, or microcontroller reference applications this is well within typical bus timing margins.
Power control and shutdown current
The Enable/Disable function draws 10 µA maximum in shutdown versus 7 mA active — so a system that gates the oscillator between bursts cuts its timing-section quiescent draw by three orders of magnitude. A battery-powered node that wakes on a schedule can therefore keep the oscillator powered down between transmission windows and stay within a tight sleep-current budget. The part ships on tape and reel and as cut tape, suitable for both high-volume SMT assembly and low-quantity proto builds without a minimum order quantity premium.
