Programmable silicon oscillator for timing generation
The LTC6990IS6#TRMPBF is a silicon oscillator from Analog Devices' TimerBlox® series, covering 488 Hz to 1 MHz with a single resistor programming. It runs on a 2.25V to 5.5V supply and draws 235 µA typical, making it a fit for battery-powered or low-power timing chains where a quartz crystal is overkill or physically too large.
Supply voltage and frequency range
The 2.25V to 5.5V supply range matches 3.3V and 5V rails common in industrial control and sensor interfaces. The 488 Hz to 1 MHz programmable range covers most low-to-mid frequency timing needs — think watchdog clocks, PWM base rates, or simple square-wave generation — without needing an external crystal or ceramic resonator.
The TSOT-23-6 package (SOT-23-6 Thin, TSOT-23-6) is a compact surface-mount footprint that fits tight layouts without a dedicated oscillator footprint.
