1.2 V rail from a 5.5 V bus — dropout and PSRR
The TCR5AM12,LF: This is a fixed 1.2 V output LDO rated for 500 mA continuous, with a maximum input voltage of 5.5 V. PSRR runs 70 dB at 1 kHz down to 40 dB at 10 Hz. That 70 dB at switching frequencies means this LDO knocks down ripple from a downstream buck converter by a factor of about 3000 — useful for feeding a quiet analog rail like an ADC reference or a sensor bias. Quiescent current is 55 µA typical. For a battery-powered device that spends most of its time in a low-power state, that idle draw is low enough to keep the regulator always on without draining the cell overnight.
Protection set and temp range
Built-in over-current, over-temperature, and under-voltage lockout (UVLO) protection. The UVLO prevents the output from sourcing a partially regulated voltage during startup or brownout — the load sees a clean ramp or nothing. That covers industrial enclosures, outdoor telecom cabinets, and under-hood electronics that see moderate heat, but not the 125°C+ of an engine bay or downhole tool.
