Six inverters in a 14-TSSOP — the workhorse unbuffered gate
The TC4069UBFTELN is a Toshiba 4000B-series CMOS hex inverter — six independent NOT gates, each with a single input, in a 14-TSSOP package. The 'UB' suffix marks it as unbuffered, meaning the output transition follows the input waveform directly without an internal buffer stage, which gives a cleaner transfer characteristic for oscillator and linear-mode circuits.
Supply range and quiescent draw — what they mean for a battery-powered or mixed-voltage board
The 3 V to 18 V supply range covers everything from a two-cell lithium primary (3.6 V nominal) up to a 12 V regulated rail, so the same part can serve both a portable sensor node and an industrial control board without a separate logic-level translator. Output drive is rated 3.4 mA source and 3.4 mA sink at 15 V supply. That is enough to switch a standard logic input or drive a small LED through a current-limiting resistor, but not enough to directly drive a relay coil or a high-capacitance bus — plan a buffer or transistor stage for loads above a few milliamps. At lower supply voltages the delay increases — at 5 V expect roughly 125 ns, which still supports clock rates up to a few megahertz for general-purpose logic.
Package and board-fit note
The 14-TSSOP body (0.173-inch wide, 4.40 mm) is a common fine-pitch footprint — 0.65 mm lead pitch, so a standard TSSOP-14 land pattern applies. Store the reels dry — TSSOP packages are moisture-sensitive, and the reel label carries the MSL level.
