Triple 3-input NOR gate for general-purpose logic
The Toshiba 74VHC27FT is a triple 3-input NOR gate from the 74VHC high-speed CMOS logic family. It integrates three independent NOR gates, each with three inputs, in a single 14-TSSOP package (14-TSSOPB supplier device package).
The maximum propagation delay is 7.9 ns at 5V with a 50 pF load. That figure is the worst-case timing path a designer needs to close — at lower supply voltages the delay increases, so the 2V end of the range is where you check hold-time margin. For a glue-logic NOR combining address decode or control signals on a 20–40 MHz bus, this part keeps the combinatorial delay well under one clock period.
2 µA quiescent current and 8 mA output drive
Quiescent current is a maximum of 2 µA across the full supply range, which is typical for the 74VHC family and keeps the standby power negligible in battery-operated or always-on circuits. The symmetrical drive also means rise and fall times stay balanced, reducing signal-integrity issues on short traces.
For a repair bench, this also means replacement stock is straightforward to source without hunting for old-date-code surplus.
