What this USB 2.0 transceiver does on your board
The TUSB1106PWR is a half-duplex USB 2.0 transceiver that handles the physical-layer signalling at 1.5 Mbps — the low-speed USB rate. It converts the differential USB bus signals to single-ended logic levels for the upstream controller, and vice versa. The wide supply range of 1.65V to 3.6V means this part can sit directly on a 1.8V or 3.3V logic rail without an external level translator. That saves a regulator or a second buffer IC on the BOM. With a receiver hysteresis of 450 mV, the input threshold is cleanly defined even on a noisy USB bus — useful when the cable run is longer than the USB 2.0 spec minimum or when the board shares a ground plane with a motor driver.
Supply voltage and logic interface flexibility
The 1.65V–3.6V supply range covers the common 1.8V and 3.3V logic families. If your MCU or SoC runs on a 1.8V I/O bank, the TUSB1106PWR connects directly — no need for a 3.3V pull-up or a voltage divider on the data lines. The single driver/receiver pair matches the half-duplex nature of low-speed USB: one differential pair for D+ and D- is all the bus requires. The 16-TSSOP package keeps the footprint small enough for a two-layer board with careful routing.
Active production and sourcing posture
The 16-TSSOP package is a standard TI footprint with wide distributor stocking.
