Half-bridge gate driver in a 3x3 mm SON
The TPS51601ADRBR is a synchronous half-bridge gate driver from Texas Instruments, designed to drive two N-Channel MOSFETs in a half-bridge configuration. It integrates both the high-side and low-side driver in a single 8-VDFN exposed pad package (8-SON, 3x3 mm), making it suitable for compact voltage regulator modules and DC-DC converter stages where board space is tight.
Supply rail and logic interface
The non-inverting input simplifies the control loop — no inversion delay to account for in the feedback path. Typical rise and fall times are 15 ns and 10 ns respectively, which sets the minimum dead-time the system needs to avoid shoot-through. At 500 kHz switching, the 15 ns rise accounts for under 1 % of the period, leaving margin for the controller's internal dead-time.
Temperature grade and package integration
Rated for operation from -40 °C to 105 °C junction temperature, the TPS51601ADRBR covers industrial and telecom ambient ranges.
