Zener TVS array for signal-line ESD protection
The Texas Instruments TPD5E003DPFR is a Zener-based transient voltage suppression diode array in a 6-XFDFN package. It integrates five unidirectional and four bidirectional channels, giving you both single-ended and differential-pair clamping in one 1 mm² footprint. Rated for a peak pulse power of 40 W and a clamping voltage of 19.5 V at 3 A (8/20 µs waveform), it handles the typical ESD and surge events on USB, HDMI, and other high-speed data interfaces. The 10 pF capacitance at 1 MHz keeps signal edges clean on lines running up to several hundred MHz.
40 W peak pulse — what it covers
The 40 W peak pulse power rating (8/20 µs) means this array absorbs the energy from IEC 61000-4-2 ESD strikes at ±8 kV contact and ±15 kV air discharge without damage. For longer-duration surges like 10/1000 µs telecom transients, the 3 A peak current limit applies — stay within that for reliable clamping. Breakdown occurs at 6 V minimum, leaving margin above the supply rail before the diode starts conducting.
