12-bit I²C temp sensor in a 1.6 mm² footprint
The TMP112BIDRLR is a digital local temperature sensor from TI's TMP112BI series, delivering 12-bit resolution over a 2-wire I²C/SMBus interface.
Typical accuracy is ±0.5°C from 0°C to 65°C, with a worst-case ±1°C across the full -40°C to 125°C range. That ±0.5°C window is tight enough for thermal-throttle logic in a base station or battery-pack monitoring without a calibration step. Supply voltage spans 1.4V to 3.6V, so it runs directly off a 1.8V or 3.3V rail — no extra LDO needed.
SOT-563 footprint — board-fit note
The supplier device package is SOT-5X3, a 5-lead SOT-563 measuring roughly 1.6 mm x 1.6 mm. The 0.5 mm pitch and exposed pad demand a standard 2-layer PCB with a thermal via under the pad if the sensor is near a heat source. Cut Tape works for prototypes and small runs.
