Fixed 1.8 V rail from a through-hole LDO
The TLV2217-18KCSE3 is a fixed-output positive LDO regulator delivering 500 mA at 1.8 V from a maximum input of 12 V.
PSRR is 62 dB at 120 Hz — that is the ripple rejection at the full-wave-rectifier fundamental frequency. A 1 Vpp ripple on the input gets knocked down to roughly 0.8 mVpp on the output, which keeps the 1.8 V rail clean for analog or logic loads that are sensitive to line-frequency hum. Built-in protection covers over-current, over-temperature, and over-voltage — the regulator shuts down or clamps before the load or the pass transistor sees damage. The operating temperature range is 0 °C to 125 °C, so it is rated for indoor equipment and moderate ambient environments, not extended cold or under-hood automotive.
