JFET input and signal bandwidth
The TL288CP is a JFET-input dual operational amplifier with a 3 MHz gain-bandwidth product and an 18 V/µs slew rate. The 18 V/µs slew rate supports large-signal swings up to about 100 kHz before slew-rate limiting sets in — useful for fast pulse amplification or audio preamp stages where the output must track a step without rounding off the edges.
Package and board integration
Housed in an 8-pin DIP package (8-DIP, 0.300-inch row spacing), the TL288CP is a through-hole part. The 8-PDIP footprint is a standard 0.100-inch pitch layout — no fine-pitch soldering required, and rework with a desoldering iron or hot-air station is straightforward. At ±5 V to ±15 V, the amplifier runs within its common-mode input range and output swing, making it compatible with standard op-amp rails in bench equipment or industrial control boards.
Dual-channel precision for signal chains
Two independent JFET op-amps in one 8-pin package, each drawing 2.6 mA supply current. Total quiescent current for both channels is 5.2 mA — low enough for multi-stage active filters or instrumentation preamps where per-channel power budget matters. Input offset voltage is 100 µV typical, and each output can source or sink 80 mA. The low offset suits DC-coupled stages without a trim pot; the output current handles driving ADC inputs or moderate loads like headphones or small relays.
