Industrial temperature and interrupt — what they mean on the board
The -40°C to 125°C operating range covers outdoor telecom cabinets, motor-drive enclosures, and under-hood automotive zones. The interrupt output (active-low, open-drain) flags a state change on any input pin without the host polling the I²C bus — useful for pushbutton panels or limit-switch inputs where firmware latency matters. Power-on reset (POR) ensures the outputs default to inputs at power-up, preventing unintended drive before the host configures the port.
Package and footprint notes
The 8-X2SON package (1.35 x 0.8 mm body) is a leadless plastic package with an exposed pad for thermal relief. The exposed pad is not electrically connected but should be soldered to a PCB thermal land per the datasheet layout recommendation. The tape-and-reel option (TR suffix) suits automated pick-and-place; cut-tape (CT) is available for prototype or low-volume builds.
