Triple 3-input NOR in the 74LV family
The SN74LV27APW is a triple 3-input NOR gate from Texas Instruments' 74LV logic family — a low-voltage CMOS series that bridges the supply gap between 5 V legacy logic and the 3.3 V / 2.5 V rails common in mixed-voltage designs. The part integrates three independent NOR gates, each with three inputs, in a single 14-TSSOP package. Each output sinks or sources 12 mA, enough to drive a standard LED indicator or the input of a downstream logic gate without a buffer. The 7.9 ns propagation delay at 5 V with a 50 pF load sets the data-rate ceiling — for a 50 MHz clocked system, the gate adds about half a clock period of skew per stage.
The 14-TSSOP body (4.40 mm width, 0.65 mm pin pitch) is a standard fine-pitch SOIC derivative that routes out on two layers without via congestion — the 0.173-inch (4.40 mm) width keeps the fan-out angle shallow enough for a 0.5 mm trace/space board.
Quiescent current maxes at 20 µA across the full supply range — the gate draws negligible standby power, so it can be left powered in a battery-backed domain without draining the coin cell.
