The SN74LV138AD is a 1-of-8 decoder/demultiplexer from the 74LV low-voltage CMOS family, accepting a single 3:8 binary input and asserting one of eight active-low outputs. Each output sources or sinks 12 mA, enough to drive a standard logic input or a low-power LED indicator directly. The industrial temperature grade (-40°C to 85°C) suits factory-floor control cabinets, outdoor telecom enclosures, and unheated storage environments.
