The SN74LS165AN is an 8-bit parallel-load shift register from the 74LS low-power Schottky family, designed to accept parallel data and output it serially, or to shift serial data through the register. It provides complementary outputs (Q and Q-bar) from a single element.
Through-hole DIP package for prototyping and legacy boards
Housed in a 16-pin DIP (0.300-inch body width, 7.62 mm row spacing) with a through-hole mounting style, the SN74LS165AN is suited for breadboard prototyping, socketed production, or rework on existing boards that use the 16-PDIP footprint. The tube packaging (25 or 40 units per tube, depending on the supplier) is the standard carrier for hand-insertion or low-volume automated assembly.
