Quad 2-input AND gate with Schmitt-trigger cleanup
The SN74HC7001D packs four independent 2-input AND gates in a single 14-SOIC package, each input equipped with a Schmitt trigger. The hysteresis on the trigger cleans up slow edges or noisy signals before the gate logic evaluates — a 0.3V to 1.2V low-level threshold vs a 1.5V to 4.2V high-level threshold means the gate does not oscillate on a slowly rising sensor output. The 2 µA max quiescent current means it adds negligible draw to a battery-powered control board.
22 ns propagation delay and 5.2 mA output drive
Maximum propagation delay is 22 ns at 6V with a 50 pF load — this sets the timing budget for the downstream flip-flop or counter. At 5V the delay is typically a few ns longer, but still fast enough for most industrial control logic running below 20 MHz. The 5.2 mA source and sink capability drives standard CMOS loads and short PCB traces without a buffer. The 14-SOIC body (3.90 mm width) fits a standard SOIC footprint — no special pad geometry needed.
