Bus switch with two independent channels
The SN74CBT3305CPW is a 2-circuit bus switch from the 74CBT family, each circuit configured as 1 x 1:1 — essentially a single-pole, single-throw (SPST) FET switch per channel. The two independent switches share a common supply rail but are otherwise isolated — each channel can be controlled separately to gate a digital signal path on or off without loading the bus when disabled.
8-TSSOP footprint and board integration
Housed in an 8-TSSOP package (4.40 mm width, 0.65 mm pitch), the SN74CBT3305CPW mounts on the board surface and occupies a compact footprint suitable for dense digital boards. The 8-TSSOP supplier device package matches the standard JEDEC MO-153 variation, so the land pattern is widely supported in PCB layout tools. The 0.65 mm lead pitch is fine enough to require careful solder-paste stencil design but is well within the capability of standard SMT assembly lines. No exposed thermal pad — the package relies on the leads for heat dissipation, so keep the trace widths adequate for the modest current levels (sub-100 mA typical for bus switching).
The wide range means the switch's on-resistance and propagation delay will shift across temperature, but the datasheet's typical curves (not reproduced here) show the variation is within the logic-family noise margins for 5V CMOS.
