Low-voltage open-drain buffer in SC-70-6
The SN74AUC2G07DCKR is a dual non-inverting buffer from Texas Instruments' 74AUC series, designed for sub-1V to 2.7V supply rails. Each of the two elements buffers one bit with an open-drain output that sinks up to 9mA. The SC-70-6 package (also known as SOT-363) occupies about 2.0mm × 2.1mm on the board, making it suitable for dense mixed-voltage designs where a small footprint matters.
Supply range and output drive
The 0.8V to 2.7V supply range covers the core voltages of modern FPGAs, SoCs, and low-power MCUs. The open-drain output sinks 9mA — enough to drive a logic input or a small LED directly, but the real value is in wired-OR configurations: multiple open-drain outputs can share a pull-up resistor without contention. The non-inverting buffer means the output follows the input; the open drain simply pulls low when the input is high, and goes high-impedance when the input is low. Because the output is open drain, the high-level voltage is set by the external pull-up resistor and its supply — this lets the SN74AUC2G07DCKR act as a level translator between a 0.8V core and a 1.8V or 2.5V peripheral bus, without needing a separate level-shifter IC.
Package and temperature grade
The SC-70-6 package has a 0.65mm pin pitch — fine enough that a standard 0.5mm tip iron can hand-solder it, but the small pad geometry means the solder paste stencil aperture should be matched to avoid bridging. The -40°C to 85°C operating range covers most industrial and consumer environments; the part is not rated for automotive under-hood temperatures, but it fits comfortably in a climate-controlled panel or portable device. Texas Instruments lists the SN74AUC2G07DCKR as active in production and ROHS3 compliant.
