Open-collector AND gate for mixed-voltage bus interfaces
The SN74ALS09D is a quad 2-input AND gate from Texas Instruments' 74ALS family, with open-collector outputs that allow wired-AND connections and level translation to higher-voltage rails. Each of the four independent gates sinks up to 8 mA when the output is low, while the high-impedance state lets multiple outputs share a common pull-up resistor without contention. This timing suits bus-oriented designs where the open-collector topology is used for interrupt lines, status flags, or multi-drop control signals.
The supplier device package is also 14-SOIC, so the PCB footprint is consistent across the 74ALS SOIC family. The open-collector outputs are particularly useful when driving LEDs, relays, or optocouplers that require a current sink rather than a push-pull stage.
Active production, ROHS3 compliant, sourced per RFQ
