74LS14 hex Schmitt inverter in SOIC-14
The SN7414NSR is a 74LS14-series hex inverter with Schmitt-trigger inputs, packing six independent inverter gates in a single 14-SOIC package.
Schmitt-trigger noise margin and propagation delay
The Schmitt-trigger inputs provide defined switching thresholds: a low-level input of 0.6 V max and a high-level input of 2 V min. This hysteresis cleans up slow or noisy edges on the input line, making the part suitable for debouncing switch contacts or squaring up a sensor output before feeding a counter or control logic. Propagation delay is 22 ns max at 5 V supply into a 15 pF load, which sets the data-rate ceiling for the downstream logic. The output can sink 16 mA and source 800 µA, enough to drive a standard TTL load or a small LED indicator directly.
