Serializer function and data-rate ceiling
The SN65LVDS95DGGREP is a 21-input LVDS serializer that collapses parallel data into three LVTTL output pairs at a serial data rate of 1.3 Gbps. The 7:1 serialization ratio means a 21-bit wide LVDS bus from the source (typically a display controller or image sensor) reduces to a three-pair differential link, cutting the cable count and connector pin-out by a factor of seven. At 1.3 Gbps per output, the aggregate serial bandwidth supports pixel clocks up to about 185 MHz (1.3 Gbps ÷ 7), which covers WXGA (1280×800 at 60 Hz) and lower-resolution panels without compression.

Interface translation and signal compatibility
The input side accepts LVDS levels — the common-mode range and differential swing are per the LVDS standard (ANSI/TIA/EIA-644), so it mates directly with an LVDS source without external level shifting. The output side drives LVTTL levels into the sink (typically a flat-panel timing controller or FPGA I/O bank). The 21 inputs and 3 outputs are fixed; the part does not support programmable serialization ratio or spread-spectrum clocking.
