Active production — no allocation signal yet
The SN65LVDS17DRFT is an active-production Buffer/ReDriver from Texas Instruments, one channel wide, translating PECL input to LVDS output at up to 4 Gbps.
460 ps delay and 4 Gbps — what the timing means
The 460 ps propagation delay is the additive latency per channel — in a 4 Gbps serial link (250 ps UI), this delay consumes less than two unit intervals, so the redriver does not force a bit-slip or re-sync at the receiver. The 40 mA supply current at 3.6 V means the total power dissipation in the 8-WSON (2x2 mm) package stays under 150 mW — no thermal vias needed for most layouts.
