Voltage translation range — 3.3 V to 5 V and beyond
The PCA9306DCTTG4 is a two-channel bidirectional voltage-level translator. That means it can translate a 3.3 V logic signal on the A side to a 5 V signal on the B side, or step down from 5 V to 3.3 V. The auto-direction sensing feature eliminates the need for a direction-control pin — the translator detects the direction of the data flow automatically, which simplifies the board layout and firmware.
Output type and channel configuration
The outputs are open-drain and push-pull compatible, and the channel type is bidirectional. With one circuit and two channels per circuit, this part handles two independent signal lines — for example, an I²C bus (SDA and SCL) or a pair of GPIO signals.
