800 MHz GBW and 1000 V/µs slew — where the speed ceiling lives
The 800 MHz gain-bandwidth product sets the small-signal closed-loop bandwidth: at a noise gain of 10, the -3 dB point lands around 80 MHz, assuming the feedback network's parasitic capacitance doesn't dominate. The 1000 V/µs slew rate defines the large-signal risetime — for a 5 V output step, the output slews at roughly 5 ns. This matters when driving a flash ADC's analog input or a video line driver where the edge rate must stay inside the sampling window. Voltage-feedback topology means the input bias current (19 µA typical) is higher than a JFET-input op-amp — plan for this when the source impedance exceeds a few kilo-ohms, or the bias current times the source resistance adds a DC offset error.
Supply rails: 9 V to 11 V span — not a wide-VIN part
The supply span runs from 9 V minimum to 11 V maximum — a tight 2 V window. This is not a part for a 5 V single-rail system or a 15 V industrial bus; it wants a regulated 10 V rail or a pair of ±5 V supplies that stay inside the 11 V total. At 20 mA supply current and 60 mA output drive per channel, the thermal rise in the 8-DIP package is modest at room temperature, but at 85°C ambient the internal dissipation should be checked against the junction-to-ambient thermal resistance for the PDIP body.
Industrial temperature grade — -40°C to 85°C
Rated for -40°C to 85°C operating temperature, the OPA643PB covers most commercial and industrial indoor environments — test chambers, benchtop instrumentation, and control-room gear. It does not carry an automotive AEC-Q100 grade, so it is not qualified for under-hood or 125°C engine-bay duty. The 500 µV input offset voltage (typical) is the DC accuracy floor at 25°C; expect some drift over the temperature range, though the datasheet's typical drift curve is the reference for a precision DC-coupled path.
