General-purpose op-amp for signal conditioning and sensor interfaces
The input bias current is just 5 pA, which preserves accuracy when buffering high-impedance sensors like photodiodes or pH probes. Supply voltage can range from 9 V to 36 V, supporting both single-supply and split-rail configurations common in industrial control and test equipment.
With a 4 MHz gain-bandwidth product, the OPA131U can close a gain-of-10 amplifier with a -3 dB bandwidth around 400 kHz, adequate for many sensor conditioning and audio line-level paths. For a 5 V peak-to-peak output, the full-power bandwidth is roughly 300 kHz — enough for fast ADC driver stages or PWM reconstruction filters. In precision DC measurement circuits, you may need to account for this offset in software calibration or select a lower-offset part if sub-100 µV accuracy is required. The 5 pA bias current is low enough that 10 MΩ source resistors introduce only 50 µV of additional offset error — negligible in most designs.
This wide range makes it drop-in compatible with legacy ±15 V industrial rails as well as modern 12 V or 24 V single-supply systems.
